I love the Nest Cam Indoor— obviously, or I wouldn’t have named it my best camera!Video wise, the Nest Cam impresses with 1080p HD display, a wide 130 degree field of view and the ability to zoom in eight times. The night vision is similarly clear with eight infrared LED sensors, and the camera comes equipped with two way audio. Not only does two way audio let you speak to whoever you’re recording, which can be an easy way to talk to family members from afar, but it’s also a great way to scare away intruders as a last
ditch effort. You’d be scared too if a disembodied voice came screaming out at you to get out of their house!On a more negative note, the camera’s night vision wasn’t quite as clear as I’d like it to be.
This focus on security is missing from this write up. Eyespyfx features free software called MyWebcam broadcaster, which will let you use any USB or built in webcam as a security camera. The software allows users to broadcast a private or public feed, watch it remotely via a web browser or mobile device, and take time lapse photos at set intervals. If you already have a form of home security set up with other cameras, the software is compatible with USB and built in webcams, IP or network cameras, and it can enable control of the Logitech and Creative pan and tilt USB webcams. Its available for PC or Mac, and the company also offers an app that users can download to an Android, Blackberry, Java mobile, or iOS device. Brinks Home Security is well recognized for offering professionally monitored security systems. These systems offer the flexibility of either professional or DIY installation. As a partner with Nest, they also allow you to choose between using their own equipment or Nest Secure equipment and monitoring. If you choose Nest Secure, Brinks will provide the ongoing staff and support for that system. Choosing Brinks comes at a premium price, but they do offer financing options for equipment at low or no interest. The monitoring itself is low cost, and it comes with a 2 year warranty although some options also require a 3 year commitment.
